Adventure Playsets is recalling 275,000 backyard playsets because your child can fall. The plastic coated lumber can weaken over time due to rotting of the wood. Adventure Playsets has received more than 1,400 reports of rotting ladders. At least sixteen children have been injured, nine had to be taken to the emergency room.
This recall involves wooden play sets with swings, slides and ladders. Each set has an overhead monkey bar ladder that acts as both the monkey bar and swing beam, and an end ladder coated with cranberry or green plastic.
The recalled playsets have been sold at Walmart, Toys R Us and other stores nationwide since January of 2004.
Consumers should immediately stop using the swing sets and contact Adventure Playsets to receive a replacement kit.
