MIAMI (AP) - A fourth person has been confirmed dead after a 24-foot motorboat believed to be carrying 12 migrants capsized off the southeastern coast of Florida.
Coast Guard spokeswoman Sabrina Laberdesque said Friday that search crews were still looking for one more person.
The boat flipped Thursday about 75 miles northeast of West Palm Beach. The Royal Netherlands Navy first came upon the boat around noon. Sailors rescued seven survivors from atop the upside-down hull and recovered three bodies from under the boat. Naval officials took the survivors aboard their vessel and contacted the Coast Guard. The survivors remain on a Coast Guard cutter.
Officials did not say where the passengers were from. They were investigating whether human smugglers might have been involved.
