American Journalist Accused of Spying Leaves Iran

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - A lawyer says American journalist Roxana
Saberi, who was jailed on the charge of spying in Iran, left the
country early Friday.

Saberi's lawyer, Abdolsamad Khorramshahi, says the 32-year-old
dual Iranian-American citizen has left Iran for Europe, but he did
not which country. He said she left around 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. local
time

On Thursday, the family said they would leave Iran in next few
days but would not welcome media coverage on it.

Saberi was originally convicted of spying in a brief,
closed-door trial and sentenced to eight years in prison.

The 32-year-old dual Iranian-American citizen, who spent four
months in prison, was freed Monday and reunited with her parents
after an appeals court reduced her sentence to a two-year suspended
sentence.
