Taxi Hits Pizzeria

NEW YORK (AP) - Accident investigators are keeping busy in New
York City.

An hour after a taxi rammed a pizzeria on Manhattan's Upper West
Side Friday, there was another freak accident in Midtown.

A woman was killed and a second woman seriously injured when a
commercial van jumped a curb at rush hour and crashed into a
building a few blocks from the Empire State Building. Charges are
pending against the van driver, who was not injured.

The earlier crash uptown left one person in critical condition,
and two others in stable condition. There were no arrests in the
taxi crash.
