WASHINGTON (AP) - It's official. President Barack Obama says he has chosen Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius for health and human services secretary and Nancy-Ann DeParle as the director of the White House Office for Health Reform.
The White House released a statement announcing the selections
shortly before the president was to announce the selections before
Obama said in the statement that the two will be critical to his effort to overhaul the health care system by reducing costs and expanding coverage.
The president's announcement comes just days before he holds a White House summit on health care.
