WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is congratulating Kosovo on its first year of independence.
At a news conference at the State Department, she called Kosovo the world's youngest democracy.
Clinton spoke after meeting with Kosovo's President Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.
She said they discussed the economic and political challenges that lie ahead for Kosovo, which gained its independence from Serbia with support from the United States.
