Ex-mayor allowed to travel for sex-addict therapy

RACINE, Wis. (AP) - A judge says the former mayor of Racine, Wis., may travel to Pennsylvania to be treated for sexual addiction.

Fifty-one-year-old Gary Becker was arrested last month after an online sting operation. He is charged with eight felonies accusing him of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a juvenile girl, who was really a state investigator.

The defense asked that Becker be allowed to get inpatient treatment at the Keystone Center in Philadelphia. The center treats those with sexual compulsivity and trauma.

Judge Stephen Simanek on Tuesday agreed to change the terms of Becker's bond to allow him to leave Racine County only for that purpose.
