CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say four people are dead and five hurt after an SUV lost control on an icy western Michigan roadway and spun into the path of a pickup truck.
The Muskegon County Sheriff's Office says the four who died in the early Friday crash were in the SUV. Two others in the vehicle were hurt, as were three men in the pickup.
The crash happened about 20 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
MLive.com reports the dead women were identified as 35-year-old Erika Ceja, 45-year-old Angelica Magana-Ceja, 35-year-old Teresa Alvarez, and 23-year-old Jessica Magana.
The SUV driver, 26-year-old Perla Magana, and another passenger, 39-year-old Leticia Ceja, were listed in stable condition.
The occupants of the pickup, 31-year-old Eric Werkema, 28-year-old Jose Hernandez and 35-year-old Ross Sterk were treated for minor injuries.
