CORSICANA, Texas (AP) - A Texas prosecutor says a man charged with murdering a 6-year-old girl whose half-nude body was found hanging in her family's garage will plead guilty.
Navarro County District Attorney Lowell Thompson says 21-year-old Shaun Earl Arender will plead guilty to capital murder at a Friday court hearing.
He says the plea will trigger a life prison sentence without the possibility of parole. Arender's attorney, Mark Griffith, confirmed the deal and said his client would testify about the crime at the hearing.
Hanna Mack's half-nude body was found hanging from the garage rafters at her family's Navarro Mills home in September 2007. Arender lived less than a mile from the home, about 65 miles south of Dallas.
