PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Former Pennsylvania state senator Vincent Fumo has taken the stand at his own federal corruption trial.
Fumo is expected to be on the stand for more than a day. He's charged with defrauding the senate, a charity and a museum out of $3.5 million.
He began by telling jurors about his childhood in South Philadelphia.
Earlier Monday, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell testified in Fumo's defense, saying his sometime rival worked hard for the state.
