NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) - Authorities Connecticut say a 21-year-old man died of hypothermia after his car crashed into a snowbank as he fled police.
An autopsy concluded Daniel Hildebrandt died after his car overturned and shattered a window, leaving him buried in snow that filled the car's interior.
New Milford police say they tried to pull him over for speeding around 2 a.m. Friday, but that he fled and crashed shortly before they caught up with him.
Authorities have not said how long Hildebrandt was buried in the snow or how long it took to remove him from the vehicle. Toxicology tests were not complete later Friday.
The crash remains under investigation.
