ROME CITY, Ind. (AP) - Two men have died after their snowmobiles fell through the ice covering Sylvan Lake in northeastern Indiana.
Indiana Conservation officers say the two Wolcottville men were among four riding in a line across the Noble County lake. Their snowmobiles broke through the ice and into the water Sunday evening. The other two snowmobiles remained on the ice.
Conservation Officer Rodney Clear says the men were pulled from the water around 9 p.m., more than an hour after they fell into the water.
Clear says both men were taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where they were pronounced dead.
