DETROIT (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard has pulled the decapitated bodies of a man and a woman from the Detroit River and a canal feeding into the waterway.
A fisherman discovered more body parts, a circular saw and a suitcase in the river Tuesday morning along a seawall not far from the canal.
U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted the first body in Fox Creek about 6:45 a.m. The Coast Guard discovered the body in the Detroit River soon after. Both bodies were missing their heads, hands and feet.
Angler Hollis Fussell tells The Associated Press he was fishing in the river around 8:45 a.m. when he discovered what "looked like three legs, a circular saw and a suitcase" about 10 feet beneath the river's surface.
Detroit police are investigating the case.
