PARIS (AP) - French troops have launched airstrikes on Islamic militant training camps and arms depots around two towns in Mali's far north.
French defense officials say 20 sites are being targeted around Kidal and Tessalit in northern Mali.
The official says "(the strikes) were targeting logistical arms and fuel depots near the Algerian border."
The French intervened in Mali last month to stem the advance of the al-Qaida-linked fighters. They have succeeded in ousting the rebels from the three main northern cities.
