UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The United Nations chief says a U.N. staffer was killed during unrest in the Abyei region disputed by Sudan and South Sudan.
A spokesman for Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday that the U.N. chief condemned the killing, which happened some 48 hours earlier. Details were not immediately available.
The Abyei region is contested by both countries, and the border is largely unmarked. South Sudan became its own country last year.
