WASHINGTON (AP) - An annual holiday concert attended by President Barack Obama and his family included something non-traditional this year: a performance by South Korean rapper and Internet sensation PSY.
Before performing Sunday, the "Gangnam Style" rapper, born Park Jae-sang, apologized for using what he says was "inflammatory and inappropriate language" during anti-U.S. protests at concerts in 2002 and 2004.
At a concert in 2004, the rapper performed a song with lyrics about killing "Yankees" including the lyrics: "Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully."
PSY now says he's "deeply sorry" and that his language was "inappropriate." PSY attended college in the U.S. and has even performed in front of American servicemen and women.
