PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a Polish military man has died in a climbing accident on Oregon's Mount Hood.
Sgt. Pete Hughes of the Hood River County sheriff's office says the body of Sebastian Kinasiewicz was spotted from the air Tuesday. He says the climber appears to have fallen about 1,000 feet from near the summit.
Hughes says it's too dangerous to recover the body because boulders are falling nearby.
Kinasiewicz had been in the United States for drone training at the Insitu company in Bingen, Wash.
The 32-year-old man started the climb Sunday and was reported missing by a roommate the next day.
Mount Hood, the tallest mountain in Oregon, is a popular climbing site that has seen dozens of accidents and fatalities over the years.
