Officials: Attack Kills 25 People North Of Baghdad
Iraqi officials say a combined car bomb and roadside bombing has killed at least 25 people and wounded 30 in a town north of Baghdad.
Two police officers say insurgents first detonated a parked car bomb near the local council building in the town of Taji.
That blast was followed by a roadside bomb that went off as people
gathered to help the victims from the first explosion.
The blasts took place around noon on Tuesday.
A doctor at a hospital confirmed the causality figures.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to talk to the media.
Taji is a Sunni-dominated town about 12 miles (20 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
