KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) - More attacks in Afghanistan today have targeted those affiliated with the Afghan government.
Officials say six people were killed when insurgent fighters attacked a checkpoint where an Afghan police officer and cook had poisoned their colleagues. Another attack killed two community council members in southern Afghanistan. And rocket-propelled grenades destroyed a warehouse full of food destined for the main U.S. base in Afghanistan.
