PARIS (AP) - Lufthansa say its flights into and out of Paris are resuming following a surprise strike by the airline's workers at Charles de Gaulle Airport today.
The Paris airport authority say all Lufthansa airport staff reported in sick this morning, leaving no one to register passengers for the airline's 22 flights.
Lufthansa workers are angry over staffing shortages. A union official says the action got the attention of company managers who showed up at the airport and persuaded staff to return to their posts.
The protest comes amid tensions over a restructuring plan that calls for job cuts for Lufthansa's operations in France. A union official says workers may stage a formal strike next week if they can't get a meeting with management about the layoff plan in the coming days.
