Israel Apple Protest

JERUSALEM (AP) - The Israeli government has appealed to Apple
Inc. to remove an application called "ThirdIntifada" from its App
Store.

Israel's information minister, Yuli Edelstein, sent the request
in a letter to the American computer giant on Tuesday.

"Intifadah" is the Arabic term for uprising against Israel. The application allows its followers to share opinions and organize
protests against Israel.

Edelstein says "one can easily see that this is in fact anti-Israel and anti-Zionist." A similar campaign several months back prompted Facebook to remove a related page.

There was no immediate comment by Apple.
