BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) - Hackers have struck a Brazilian
government website for the third straight day.
A group identifying itself as "Fail Shell" attacked the website of Brazil's IBGE statistics agency on Friday by posting a photograph with the colors of the Brazilian flag, the phrase "IBGE hacked" and a warning that it would strike again.
The IBGE confirms the attacks but says the information on its
site has not been compromised.
On Wednesday and Thursday the self-styled Brazilian branch of
the Lulz Security hacking collective claimed responsibility for
attacks that blocked temporarily traffic to the websites of the
Brazilian presidency, the nation's internal revenue service, oil
company Petrobras, the Senate and the Sports Ministry.
