BAGHDAD (AP) - Attacks by insurgents killed eight police and soldiers in Iraq Sunday.

In the first attack, police say gunmen in a moving vehicle opened fire on a police patrol in a predominantly Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad. Two policemen were killed and a third was wounded in the early morning attack.

Several hours later, gunmen killed three private security guards at a Baghdad amusement park.

In both attacks, police say the gunmen used pistols fitted with silencers.

In the western province of Anbar, two roadside bombs blasted an army patrol near Fallujah. Police and hospital officials say three soldiers were killed.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters.

Security forces and government offices have become top targets for insurgents seeking to shake people's confidence in the Shiite-led government's ability to provide security. More than 200 people have been killed in attacks this month in Iraq.
