THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) - Dutch media are reporting that police have found 14-year-old Dutch sailor Laura Dekker on St. Maarten in the Caribbean.
National broadcaster NOS and newspaper De Volkskrant say police on the island have tracked down Dekker days after she ran away from home, leaving her boat behind. They are citing police on St. Maarten and the Dutch Child Protection Agency.
Police and the Child Protection Agency in the Netherlands could not immediately be reached late Sunday for comment.
Earlier Sunday, Utrecht police spokesman Bernhard Jens said Dekker was reported missing Friday and authorities had put out an international alert to help track her down.
