Mexican police say assailants gunned down five men and a woman in a pool hall in the border city of Ciudad Juarez.
Two more shooting victims have been hospitalized in serious condition.
Police spokesman Enrique Torres says about a half-dozen armed men burst into the "Bull's" billiards hall Friday and opened fire on customers.
There was no immediate information on motive.
Ciudad Juarez has suffered from high levels of drug-related violence in recent years.
Cartel turf battles and a crackdown by security forces have left more than 11,000 people dead nationwide since late 2006.
