LONDON (AP) - The Titanic International Society says Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the sinking of the Titanic has died in her sleep.
The society's president Charles Haas told The Associated Press Millvina Dean died Sunday. He said she had suffered from slight pneumonia last week.
Dean was just over two months old when the Titanic hit an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, sinking less than three hours later.
Dean was cared for at a nursing home in southern England. A staff nurse at Dean's nursing home refused to confirm or deny the news Sunday.
Stars of the film "Titanic" donated money earlier this month to help pay Dean's nursing home fees.
