KABUL (AP) - NATO says one of its soldiers has been killed in a
hostile incident in southern Afghanistan.
The military alliance in a statement says the soldier died
Saturday's statement did not disclose the victim's nationality
or the exact location of the incident.
Four Canadian soldiers were killed in the same region on Friday.
Southern Afghanistan is the center of the Taliban-led
insurgency. President Barack Obama has ordered 17,000 more U.S.
troops to deploy to the country to reverse the militants' gains.
