PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - In Pakistan, a bomb has killed a lawmaker in a key city near the Afghan border.
Police in Peshawar say it appears the bomb was hidden in a motorcycle and was detonated by remote control when a vehicle carrying the lawmaker passed.
The lawmaker belonged to a party that has spoken out strongly against militants.
The bombing occurred while the new U.S. envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan was in town.
Richard Holbrooke is on the third day of a visit to Pakistan to help President Barack Obama chart a new strategy to beat insurgents in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
