KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) - A provincial governor says at least
10 people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack in a market in
Nimroz province Governor Ghulam Dastagir Azad says the bomber
was on foot and apparently targeted a police official who was
buying produce at a shop. Azad says Friday's blast destroyed four
shops and killed the police official, along with another officer
and at least eight civilians.
Nimroz Police Chief Gen. Jabar Pardeli confirmed the death of
the police official and said there were other deaths but he did not
have exact figures.
