PAMPLONA, Spain (AP) - A Cleveland man is among at least 23 people injured during the running of the bulls today in Pamplona, Spain.
The injuries happened when dozens of people fell at the narrow entrance to the bullring and the huge animals crashed into them. One bull fell and charged the crowd, while two others tried to leap over a pile of people.
The 35-year American, who was only identified by the initials I.L., was reported to be in surgery after being gored.
An Interior Ministry spokesman says a gate normally used to let regional police into ringside positions was pushed wide open by a flood of runners, causing an obstruction for others trying to enter the main arena.
