RENO, NV - Record temperatures and near records across the country and here locally are raising concerns about gardening to sinuses.

Those concerns started to make their way into the news about 11 days ago. First, there is the fear that the warm temperatures could fool the plants.

"You're going to start to see the buds come up and then it's going to get cold and those buds are actually going to get frosted off so you may have less flowers on your bulbs this spring than you would have normally," said Timothy Craig of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center

Northern Nevada isn't the only area experiencing the problem. Across the country, there have been at least 40 record highs in the past three weeks.

"If these temperatures continue the trees are all going to bloom very early," Craig said. "That means we could start our allergy season much earlier than normal"

The agony for allergy sufferers is going to start sooner.
But, that does not mean its going to end any earlier.
The problem is that some plants like grass will just keep on blooming through the Spring.
