RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Washoe County Health District is joining in the observance of National Infant Immunization Week by offering free childhood vaccinations.
An annual event, "Give Kids a Boost" will be held Saturday as part of the Sun Valley Health and Safety Fair.
Free immunizations will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sun Valley Neighborhood Center.
The district has been supporting free shots for kids during Immunization Week since the 1990s. Health district coordinator
Lynnie Shore says since then, the event has grown from vaccinating
a few infants and toddlers to hundreds who have turned out in recent years.
Besides immunizations for children, free flu vaccinations for adults will also be available at the health fair.
