RENO, NV - The City of Reno is offering free exercise classes to the public 4 days each week. The series called "Shape Up Reno" aims to fight obesity and promote healthy living. They've teamed up with instructors from 24-Hour Fitness to offer classes at noon at the City Plaza Monday, Wednesday on Friday. On Saturdays at 9:00 AM in Wingfield park instructors from the Studio will lead you in a yoga session.
Organizers say the classes each last one hour and no registration is required. All you have to do is show up.
During the peak summer heat, some shade, spray bottles and cool wet towels will be on hand to help exercisers cool off, but you are advised to bring a drink to stay hydrated. Organizers say more sessions could be added if interest grows. Here's a complete list of current classes which are scheduled to continue indefinitely.
