SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Health officials say the flu season's second influenza-related death in Orange County is a La Habra man.
The man in his 50s died during the last week of December.
County Health Care agency officials reported last month that a 51-year-old Fountain Valley man had died during the same period.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says flu was widespread in 47 states last week, up from 41 states the previous week. The only states without outbreaks are California, Mississippi and Hawaii.
Those at highest risk are young children, pregnant women, senior citizens, the morbidly obese, health care workers, children and adolescents receiving long-term aspirin therapy and people with chronic diseases, including heart disease, asthma, lung diseases or diabetes.
