Free HIV Tests Offered Throughout Nevada Wednesday

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Health officials are making it easier for Nevadans to learn their HIV status with free testing on Wednesday.

Clinics in Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City are offering the promotion as part of National HIV Testing Day.

Tests are available at Charlie's Bar, the Southern Nevada Health District Sexual Health Clinic, and Richard Steele Boxing Club in Las Vegas.

In Reno, tests are offered at Northern Nevada Hopes and along the 4th Street corridor.

Residents can also get tested at the Carson City Health and Human Services building.

Health officials say people who know they have the potentially deadly virus can avoid spreading it to people they know and can get treatment to live a longer, healthier life.
