RENO, NV - In a 4-to-1 vote, the Reno City Council approved an Ordinance amending the Reno Municipal Code to remove the stay on the acceptance of Medical Marijuana business applications and to allow Medical Marijuana Establishments (MMEs) within the City of Reno under certain criteria.

Planning Commission recommends that hours of operation should be determined by the underlying zoning with the option for City Council to further restrict hours of operation through any associated performance contract entered into between the City and an operator of an MME.

NRS spacing requirements establish a 1,000 foot separation from a public or private school, preschool through 12th grade, and a 300 foot separation from a community facility.

A revision to the Ordinance is that the spacing distance will be measured specifically from the front door of a MME to the school or community facility property line, rather than parcel line to parcel line.
