Man Who Died in Mountains Remembered

The brother-in-law of Roderick Clifton is remembering Clifton as dedicated, and fun to be around. Don Emlaw is the general manager at Schwan's in Moundhouse. Emlaw said Clifton, an electrician and resident of the Sacramento area, often drove to Nevada. Emlaw said Clifton visited Emlaw's wife -- Clifton's sister.

Sparks Keeps 'Christmas' in Seasonal Celebration

Wild winds forced Sparks City Officials to postpone their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony by a week, but Friday night the festivities were back on. As workers hang the last ornaments, the city is throwing political correctness out the door, proudly calling it a Hometown Christmas celebration rather than renaming it a "Holiday Tree" lighting.

We've received quite a few Christmas and gift cards for our “Be A Santa To A Soldier” campaign. The deadline to drop off the cards was Friday. But that deadline has been extended over the weekend so that you can make Christmas a little more special for Nevada men and women serving in Afghanistan.
