RENO, Nev. (AP) - A man who returned to a Reno casino to retrieve a forgotten laptop computer was instead arrested and charged with nine counts of possession of child pornography.
Jeff R. Stewart was being held Monday in the Washoe County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
Police say the 54-year-old man Reno man had been gambling at the
Eldorado or Silver Legacy Saturday afternoon and left the laptop behind in a carrying case by a slot machine.
Security officers had picked it up and were searching computer files to identify the owner when they say they came across the images of children under the age of 12 engaged in sexual behavior.
Reno police arrived shortly before Stewart did. They say he admitted the pictures were his and knew it was against the law.
