CARSON CITY, NV - A Carson City woman has been sentenced to 40 to 104 months in prison after stealing from her elderly mother.
Liane Anderson was living with her 83-year-old mother, and admitted to accessing her bank account and credit cards without permission, making purchases, withdrawals and cash advances.
Police reports indicate that for more than a year, Anderson bought cosmetic injections, among other things, and posted bail for a methamphetamine dealer in jail in Carson City.
The total loss was estimated to exceed $50,000.
Her sentence includes making $20,000 in restitution.
Anderson pleaded guilty to the charges on January 17, 2012. At sentencing, she blamed her actions on methamphetamine addiction. She told the judge she did not want to be placed on probation, asking for a minimum prison term.
