CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City sheriff's deputies made quick work Tuesday morning arresting the suspect in a bank robbery.
Shortly after 9AM, a Rachel Barrett walked into the Nevada State Bank branch on South Carson Street and used a black handgun to get cash from a clerk. She then got into a pickup, but got out and ran off when she saw people were watching her.
About two hours later, Barrett was arrested at an apartment complex several blocks from the bank. No one else has been arrested, and detectives haven't confirmed whether a possible second person, reported by witnesses, had anything to do with the robbery.
Barrett is charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Her bail has been set at $40,000. Anyone with any information regarding the robbery is encouraged to contact the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Investigations Division, at 283-7851.
