RENO, NV - The woman accused of brutally killing her mother last year in Sparks pleaded guilty Thursday morning in a surprise move.
Catherine Eisley was supposed to go to trial in December until she offered this plea.
Police say she beat her 70-year-old mother in the head with a baseball bat, slashed her throat and stabbed her in the stomach. She told police she suffers from PTSD, after seeing her mother commit incest with her brother when she was a young girl.
Wednesday, a judge decided all evidence against her would be used at the trial, which prosecutors say may have made her decide to plead guilty.
She will be sentenced in January, and she could face life in prison.
