Name of Woman Killed in Crash on Mount Rose Highway Released

RENO, NV - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a woman killed in a crash on the Mount Rose Highway.

According the the Nevada Highway Patrol, 50-year-old Tracy Scott of Reno was headed up State Route 431 in an SUV about 1:15 Friday afternoon. The road was slick and it was snowing, and she apparently had just pulled onto the highway from a driveway between Joy Lake Road and the Lodge at Galena restaurant. She lost traction and went into the oncoming lane, and was hit by a Dodge Ram hauling a two-axle trailer.

She was taken to a hospital, where she died. She had no passengers. The driver in the Dodge was also taken to a hospital, but released the same night.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
