Authorities Report Two Hit-and-Run Accidents in One Morning

RENO, NV - Reno police and Washoe county deputies say they are searching for two hit and run drivers in two separate cases early Friday morning.

The first driver hit a woman in a crosswalk, then drove off. Deputies say it happened around 12:30 a.m., on Sierra Street near Putnam Drive, near Rancho San Rafael park.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to Renown Medical Center with serious injuries.

So far, there is a vague description of the vehicle that hit her. Deputies are searching for a light colored Jeep with a soft top.

The second incident involving a man on a bicycle happened about an hour later. Reno police say around 1:30 a.m. the driver of an SUV hit a man on a bicycle near Sierra and 6th Streets, then took off. The bicyclist has minor injuries. The SUV is described as a dark colored Ford Explorer, possibly a 2000's model.

If you know anything that can help investigators find either of these drivers, you're asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
