RENO -- Some Reno residents were cleaning up Monday after a windy weekend. Reno Tree Service said when the weather starts to warm up, it's a busy time with customers asking for fruit tree pruning and clean up.
A tree was uprooted near Wedge Parkway. Downed fences were also reported in the region.
While it is inevitable some trees will topple, experts say there are some ways to reduce the risk of trees coming down in storms.
"We open up the tops of them when they're thick and thin the weighted limbs and take out the diseased and broken... (they are then) definitely stronger and more elastic in the wind," Kristy McKay, owner of Reno Tree Service said.
