CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - The spokesman for the Nevada Department of Wildlife will take a seat as grand marshal in Nevada Day festivities in the state capital.
The Nevada Appeal reports Chris Healy is presiding over Saturday's 73rd annual parade in Carson City, which marks the anniversary of Nevada gaining statehood Oct. 31, 1864.
This year's parade theme is "The Great Outdoors."
Healy was born and raised in northern Nevada and has been the
voice of the wildlife department for the past 26 years.
He now helps produce a Thursday morning wildlife segment that appears right here on KOLO 8.
