RENO, Nev. –The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and Granite Construction will close the I-80 westbound Virginia Street offramp 24 hours a day beginning Friday, April 20 at 8 pm and will re-open the ramp by Monday, April 23 at 5 am.
Drivers are encouraged to use the Wells Avenue or Keystone Avenue off-ramps as alternative routes.
This closure is necessary for ramp widening improvements and the safety of drivers and workers.
The estimated $72 million I-80 Design-Build Project includes pavement rehabilitation on approximately 40-year-old concrete between Keystone Avenue and Fourth Street, as well as installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), signing and striping, drainage and ramp improvements and landscaping and aesthetics enhancements on I-80 between Robb Drive and Vista Boulevard. The project is expected to complete in Fall 2012.
