RENO, Nev. (AP) - Washoe County Sheriff's office staff will no longer be available to help residents file non-emergency reports during the weekends.

Sheriff Michael Haley says budget cuts mean the new, weekday-only schedule goes into effect Saturday.

Residents can still file reports at the sheriff's office front desk from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can also file them online at the department's website, or through a 24-hour online reporting station located in the sheriff's office lobby at 911 Parr Blvd.

The non-emergency reports include illegal dumping, vandalism and
vehicle accident reports.

Haley says the sheriff's office sees more of those reports come
in on weekdays and evenings than during the weekends.
