RENO, NV - Washoe County Undersheriff Tim Kuzanek is announcing next week a run to replace his boss, who is stepping down.
Kuzanek will make his intentions officially known Tuesday at a news conference to try to replace Sheriff Mike Haley, who is not running for re-election. He has the support of Haley, Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, Sparks Mayor Geno Martini, Washoe County District Attorney Dick Gammick, and former Washoe County Sheriffs Dennis Balaam and Richard Kirkland.
Kuzanek has been with the department since 1993, working in a variety of areas of the department before becoming undersheriff.
