RENO, NV - A Reno charity has come in second in voting to win a car from Toyota.
The "100 Cars for Good" program is being put on by Toyota, handing out 100 cars to 100 non-profits over the course of 100 days. The public is invited to vote for the charity believed to be able to do the most good with a new vehicle.
Each day, five businesses compete against each other, and Monday, CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada was one of the five. It came in second in national voting to a food bank in the midwest. So the charity doesn't get a car, but does win a $1,000 second-place prize.
CARE Chest helps provide people in need with medical equipment.
