Reno, NV - In the near future, you'll be hearing a lot more about the Reno-Tahoe Visitor Center in downtown Reno.
It opened up earlier this month inside the Reno Envy store on Sierra Street. Behind all of the t-shirts and merchandise, you'll see tables and shelves full of brochures about what's going on in Northern Nevada. Next week, the Visitor Center will be featured in the Reno-Tahoe Visitor book, which is placed inside the rooms at all the big casinos and hotels in the area.
Right now, a lot of locals are learning about the center simply by walking by and they say you couldn't pick a better spot than downtown.
"I believe this area gets a lot of walk by traffic," says Katie Loughnot, a Reno resident. "Again, we just happened upon it. It wasn't a destination for us. And we said, visitor center, let's go check it out!"
Later this year, you will see signs on I-80 and downtown - guiding people to the Visitor Center. It's all part of a three-way partnership between the City of Reno, the RSCVA, and Reno Envy.
